Frontier Nursing University (FNU) announced that university President Dr. Susan Stone, DNSc, CNM, FACNM, FAAN, will transition into a new role as the university’s appointed Distinguished Chair of Midwifery. Dr. Stone’s transition into this role will tentatively occur at the end of 2023, pending the identification of her successor. Dr. Stone has served as the president of FNU since 2001.

The 2022 FNU President’s Annual Report: Campus Ribbon-Cutting and In-Person Commencement Highlight an Event-Filled Year
FNU’s campus ribbon-cutting, commencement ceremony, first Day of Giving event and more made 2022 a year to remember. All of those events are covered in the 2022 President’s Annual Report. Additionally, the Report reflects on the university’s progress toward the goals set in the 2022 strategic plan and takes a closer look at the people and programs behind the plan’s success. The recent issue of the FNU Quarterly Bulletin is jam-packed with coverage of FNU’s event-filled Fall, which was one of the busiest in recent memory. It all began in September with Commencement, our largest annual event once again held at the historic Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
FNU’s President’s Cabinet offers diverse perspectives to move the university forward
Frontier Nursing University’s President’s Cabinet collaborates with the Board of Directors and university leadership to offer internal guidance and expertise on initiatives, policies, and operations that support FNU’s mission, vision, and culture of caring. In an effort to expand diverse perspectives within the Cabinet, FNU has added two volunteer members, one faculty and one staff member, to serve for a one-year term. Nomination and selection criteria prioritize candidates capable of offering insights currently underrepresented within the Cabinet. This year, Dr. Torica Fuller, FNU faculty member and FNP Clinical Transition Coordinator, and Samana Upadhyaya, Enterprise Applications Manager, were chosen to bring their unique experience to the Cabinet as the designated faculty and staff representatives.
