Chapter 33 benefits pay tuition and fees directly to the school. Eligible students may qualify for a monthly housing allowance and books/supplies stipend.
If you’re the child or spouse of a Veteran or service member who has died, is captured or missing, or is permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected disability, you may be eligible for the Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) program.
Chapter 35 benefits send a monthly stipend directly to the student, based on full or part-time enrollment.
If you’re a service member or Veteran and have a disability that was caused—or made worse—by your active-duty service and that limits your ability to work or prevents you from working, you may be able to get employment support or services to help you live as independently as possible.
Chapter 31 (formerly Voc Rehab) benefits pay tuition & fees directly to the school. Students may also receive a subsistence allowance.
If you’ve served at least 2 years on active duty, you may qualify for the MGIB-AD program.
Chapter 30 funds pay directly to the student based on length of service, type of education program, and other factors.
If you’re a member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard, or Air National Guard, you may qualify for this benefit.

Student Veterans Group
Frontier Nursing University’s (FNU) Student Veterans Group is part of the Student Veterans of America (SVA) national network. With a focused mission on empowering student veterans, SVA is committed to providing an educational experience that goes beyond the classroom. Through a dedicated network of more than 1,500 on-campus chapters in all 50 states and four countries representing more than 750,000 student veterans, SVA aims to inspire yesterday’s warriors by connecting student veterans with a community of like-minded chapter leaders. Every day these passionate leaders work to provide the necessary resources, network support, and advocacy to ensure student veterans can effectively connect, expand their skills, and ultimately achieve their greatest potential.
CE Course for Veterans
Frontier Nursing University has created a continuing education course to prepare healthcare professionals to provide culturally sensitive care to veterans within their community. Developed by military-connected faculty at FNU, the “Care of the Veteran” program is a self-paced module that will guide clinicians through understanding military culture, service-connected health concerns, and developing a plan of care utilizing military service benefits.
