Frontier Nursing University remains at the forefront of technology and innovation, offering distance education to nurses with an interest in a variety of specialties. By taking advantage of technology, we are able to meet the needs of nurse-midwives and nurse practitioners who do not want to leave their home communities to obtain a graduate education.

Technology Requirements

• At Frontier, we pride ourselves in our responsive and easy-to-access faculty. Unlike many large universities, your FNU faculty responds quickly and is easily accessible via e-mail, video chat or a phone call.
• Because of FNU’s distance education model, we are able to offer the highest quality education for a fraction of the cost of a brick-and-mortar university.
• You will interact with students from around the world who are taking part in the same coursework. With classmates from a variety of cultures, you will graduate from FNU with a wide network of friends and a greater understanding of global healthcare.
• Our distance education model offers flexibility and the opportunity to access FNU courses from anywhere. We understand that many of our students have families and work full-time, which is why we created a program with the versatility to fit into your schedule.
• Our faculty will teach and guide using a variety of interactive web-based services, such as Google Hangouts and Big Blue Button. Both options allow you to interact directly with faculty and other students, making your home office your classroom.
• Our Frontier Digital Depot provides opportunities for self-directed learning, giving you access to collections of instructional content, scholarly publication citations, and student projects. These collections will allow you to stay up-to-date with the latest health care research.
• As a student, you will have the opportunity to connect with the FNU community via the university’s private communications portal, known as the Banyan Tree. The portal gives you access to other students, faculty and alumni as well as assignments, course updates and case studies. You can also explore topics related to practice issues, career paths, families and more.
