Chief Information and Digital Officer
Marc Blevins, MS, CISA, AAIA
Marc Blevins is the Chief Information and Digital Officer at Frontier Nursing University, where he leads the institution’s technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives. A data-driven technologist and lifelong learner, Blevins brings extensive higher education experience spanning internal audit, information technology, business operations, and strategic planning.
Blevins began his higher education career at the University of Kentucky in 2006 as an IT Technician supporting campus academic learning spaces and computer labs. He advanced through progressively responsible roles at the UK College of Public Health, serving as System Administrator and Director of IT before becoming Interim Director for Strategic and Financial Planning. In this capacity, he successfully led a comprehensive reorganization of the College’s financial and administrative teams, streamlining operations and improving efficiency to deliver better service to the College’s faculty, staff, and students.
From 2016 to 2022, Blevins joined UK Internal Audit, where he developed and led three specialized teams responsible for IT audits, audit analytics, and fraud investigations across all University units and UK HealthCare. His work focused on descriptive and predictive analytics that increased audit coverage and reduced resource requirements for continuous, repeatable audits.
A common theme throughout his life and leadership roles in higher education is a deep-seated belief in the social compact that great universities have to carry out their mission in a manner that transforms individuals and communities through the students we educate, the research we conduct, and the knowledge we translate into impact. He has witnessed this mission in action – from transforming Kentucky health outcomes via computational public health research activity to mentoring interns starting their internal audit careers – and brings this perspective to his leadership at Frontier Nursing University.
An active community volunteer who has served on local non-profit boards, Blevins holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from Morehead State University. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor and has served on ISACA’s Certified Information Systems Auditor workgroup since 2023. He also holds the Advanced in AI Audit (AAIA) certification. He maintains professional memberships with ISACA and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
