Eva Fried, DNP, CNM, WHNP, CNE, FACNM

Dr. Eva Fried is the Clinical Director for Midwifery and Women’s Health at FNU. She was previously the Nurse-Midwifery Program Director at the University of Cincinnati and has more than 20 years of experience in patient care as a nurse practitioner and nurse-midwife.

Dr. Fried has made significant contributions to the professions of midwifery and advanced practice nursing through writing, advocacy work, and community building. In her work as a faculty member and administrator, she demonstrates commitment to excellence and fosters belongingness and community in distance education.

Dr. Fried’s education and training includes a Post Graduate Certificate in nurse-midwifery from FNU, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Wright State University. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Ohio State University, where she also completed her women’s health nurse practitioner education.

A highly respected leader, educator, and practitioner, Dr. Fried is a two-time recipient of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Excellence in Teaching Award (2020, 2021). In 2024, she became an ACNM Fellow.

Dr. Fried is a contributing author in several books and publications. She is also a frequent presenter at local, national, and international conferences, speaking on topics such as antiracist approaches to midwifery education, collaboration between graduate and faculty library sciences, and campus-wide sexual health initiatives.
