ADN to MSN Bridge – Discontinued

A Message from Dr. Susan Stone

Dear Frontier Community,

I want to share some news with you. We have made the very difficult decision to discontinue the Bridge Program. This was a hard decision to make as we have had so many successful graduates from this program, and we are very proud of them. We do strongly believe discontinuing the bridge program is the right thing to do for many reasons which include:

1) Enrollment interest in the Bridge Program is waning, there has been a trend of decreasing applicants.

2) Students have multiple opportunities to complete online ADN-BSN programs. We believe this is a better option in that it culminates in a BSN. There are more than 750 ADN-MSN programs available and many are on-line programs. This is a much different picture than when we started the Bridge Program more than a decade ago.

3) Although interest in the Bridge Program is declining, interest in our other programs is very high, and we continue to turn away approximately 50% of our qualified applicants. We can use the resources currently devoted to the Bridge Program to increase the available applicant slots in other programs.

We will admit our last group of Bridge students in the Spring 2020 term, they will attend Frontier Bound March 9 -13. There are currently approximately 100 Bridge students enrolled who will attend their Crossing sessions as scheduled. We are committed to assuring that every student currently enrolled or accepted into the Bridge Program will successfully complete the program. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Dr. Susan Stone, President, Frontier Nursing University
