Billie Anne Gebb, MSLS

Billie Anne Gebb serves as Director of Library Services and Senior Instructor at Frontier. Now in her 20th year at FNU, she began working in academic libraries in 2002. When she joined FNU in 2006, she did so as the University’s sole librarian. Under her direction, the library staff has grown to include five full-time staff.

Gebb earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, and a master’s degree in library science (MSLS) at the University of Kentucky. She previously served as a reference librarian at Midway College (now Midway University) and as a law librarian at the firm of Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald PLLC in Covington, Kentucky.

Her primary research areas include information literacy throughout the curriculum and mobile technology. She co-authored a chapter with other Frontier faculty in Best Practices in Midwifery: Using the Evidence to Implement Change, which was selected as the American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year for 2013. She has also published articles in Journal of Library & Information Services in Distance Learning and Journal of Electronic Resources in Medical Libraries.

She is an active member on several FNU committees, including serving as the Chair of the Library Committee.
