Shelley Aldridge

Shelley Aldridge is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of FNU, responsible for overseeing facilities, operations, personnel administration and administrative services. Aldridge graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. She started at FNU as an Administrative Assistant in January of 1999 and in May of 2002 was promoted to Executive Assistant. In January of 2005, she became the Business Manager of FNU, responsible for the financial and operational management of the school. Aldridge was a key participant in the organization of the university in preparation for its initial accreditation in 2004. In January of 2011, she was promoted to COO.

In 2017, Aldridge played a pivotal role in leading the successful relocation of the FNU Campus to its new site in Versailles, KY. Her strategic oversight and collaborative leadership were instrumental in every phase of the transition—from logistical planning and operational coordination to the physical move itself. As an integral member of the facilities team, Aldridge helped shape the vision for the new Campus, ensuring it met the needs of students and employees. Aldridge’s professional accomplishment she is most proud of is her contribution to creating a vibrant and inclusive campus environment.

Aldridge is passionate about ensuring employees feel supported in their roles and are satisfied with the work at FNU. She appreciates that employees choose FNU as their place of employment and believes those performing the work are best positioned to make informed decisions about the work.

Aldridge is a member of the Business Officers of Nursing Schools (BONUS), which is a Leadership Network through the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Through BONUS, she can network with other administrators of nursing education and receive education in business, technology, and financial and administrative management of nursing schools. Aldridge is also a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), a valuable resource for navigating the higher education workplace.

Aldridge was born and raised in Kentucky. Originally from Louisville, she moved to Lexington to attend the University of Kentucky, where she lives today with her husband, two daughters, and one old dog.
