Step 1
Choose Your Modules
Our AMCB review course modules include antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn, gynecological care, and primary care. Every module was designed by Frontier Nursing University, the oldest and largest continually operating nurse-midwifery education program in the U.S.
Step 2
Work at Your Own Pace
We understand that nurses are balancing careers, families and much more while serving their communities. That’s why FNU started a distance education program in 1989. Today, we are leveraging this unmatched expertise to offer midwives and nurse-midwives a meaningful, well-designed AMCB review course. You will have 90 days to complete the course while you work at your own pace.
Step 3
Practice Test-taking Strategies that Work
We have worked with thousands of nurse-midwives who have passed the AMCB exam on the first try. Our program includes a mock board exam that simulates the board exam experience while in the comfort of your own environment. Our current program pass rate is 6% higher than the national average.

About the American Midwifery Certification Board
The purpose of the AMCB certification program is to set the national standard for the profession of midwifery and to protect the public by ensuring that certified individuals have met pre‐determined criteria for safe practice. The exam is intended to assess the cognitive knowledge of a beginning midwifery practitioner (CNM or CM) who is a successful graduate of an accredited educational program for nurse-midwives or midwives with a graduate degree. CNM candidates must also have an active RN license. Learn more at amcbmidwife.org.
